How to delete all Gmail emails
Gmail is a feature-rich service that provides enough space for the users to store their emails. However, a time comes when your inbox has to be cleaned up. It gets so messy that you decide to delete the entire message once for all. But you fear about losing some important emails. Guess what, Gmail has a solution for this! Let’s learn how to delete all Gmail emails.
Delete all Gmail emails
As you might already know, your Gmail contains multiple inboxes. Apart from the Primary inbox that contains emails from your contacts and acquaintances, there are two other inboxes named ‘Social’ and ‘Promotions’. As the name suggests, the Social inbox contains messages from your social media channels such as YouTube, Google+, or any other social media platform. The Promotions inbox contains promotional emails from different businesses.
To delete all messages from your inbox, you have to log into your Gmail account first; and click on the desired inbox type that you want to empty.
To delete all messages, click on the box that is present right above the Primary inbox. When you click on it, it will select all the emails present in the current interface. Not that if you press delete at this stage, it will only delete the 50 emails that are present in the first page of your inbox.
In order to delete all Gmail emails, you will have to check the box. As soon as you check it, a new line will appear containing the option to ‘Select all 1625 conversations in Primary’. (The number 1625 is the number of emails/conversations in my Primary inbox. It is understood that this number will change with respect to the type of inbox you select.)
After selecting all the conversations, click on the delete icon; the icon is present in a row right below the search bar. Your desired inbox will be empty in a few seconds.
Make Sure to really delete your emails
As you now know how to delete all Gmail emails, you must make sure that you have done all things right. After emptying your desired inbox, you have to make sure that you also delete the messages from your Trash on Bin folder. As you delete your messages from your inbox, they go to the trash folder. It means that they are still there in your Gmail account and taking up space. Your job will be done when you empty your Trash folder.
