Revealed-New Malware Hits Twitter Accounts
Security researchers have discovered malware that retrieves commands from memes posted on a Twitter account controlled by the attackers.
The hackers uses Steganography—a technique of hiding contents within a digital graphic image in such a way that’s invisible to an observer—to hide the malicious commands embedded in a meme posted on Twitter, which the malware then parses and executes.
Although the internet meme looks a normal image to human eyes, the command “/print” is hidden in the file’s metadata, which then prompts the malware to send a screenshot of the infected computer to a remote command-and-control server.
The Twitter account used to deliver the malicious memes appears to have been disabled, but it is still not clear who is behind this malware and how the mysterious hacker was circulating the malware.
Since security tools keep an eye on the network traffic to detect malicious IP addresses, attackers are increasingly using legitimate websites and servers as infrastructure in their attacks to make the malicious software more difficult to detect.

Kaspersky is some of the best antivirus software out there. Independent antivirus testing labs have thrown everything they have at Kaspersky and the software has performed admirably. It is consistently rated at or near the top of the list for this reason. Kaspersky is available in three different forms: Kaspersky Antivirus, Kaspersky Internet Security, and Kaspersky Total Security.
Antivirus protects against standard cyberattacks such as viruses, spyware, malware, and performs automatic scans. Internet Security adds extra firewall security, public network security, and advanced parental controls. Total Security has all these features plus additional password security, encryption features, and online backup.
Bitdefender also scores very well in all the antivirus tests. The Bitdefender antivirus is a great value for the price, since it has many more functions than simply antivirus protection. One of its best features is its superb malware blocking. While its system scans take longer than average, Bitdefender performs admirably at detecting and eliminating malware. Bitdefender also has excellent performance in ransomware protection, fraud detection, and anti-phishing.
Bitdefender comes in two main forms, Internet Security and Antivirus Plus, as well as several different options for securing multiple devices in the household. It even has specially-formed software that still secures Windows Vista and Windows XP.
McAfee is an all-around excellent choice when it comes to internet protection. It has much more than simple antivirus protection, closer to the security suite end of the spectrum than anything. Combined with its firewall capabilities, this ability to protect all devices makes McAffee a great buy.
Norton is not only an antivirus software; it is a full security suite. Designed to cover any and every security need for the home computer—including cloud storage—Norton is one of the best in the business. While its basic antivirus software is more expensive than its competitors, the list of protections is second to none.
Norton’s malware protection and phishing protection are some of its best qualities, providing excellent defense against common and uncommon cyberattacks. Norton is available in four different packages: Basic, Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. The more advanced versions cover more devices and protect against issues such as cloud storage threats.
